It's so fun to see things still going in the fandom that you created/revived... what... 6 years ago now.

Yay, go [info]hd100. Maybe I'll write a drabble this week.

What's utterly brilliant about the popularity of the HP books, is that it is now impossible for the H/D ship to ever die. So long as there are readers, there will be shippers. It's just one of the ones that makes sense.

So who else is totally into Merlin? The tv series I mean.

It's great! Watch it! Read it!

I fear that Merlin/Arthur is going to become my new OTP. =O

That is how much I recommend this fandom.

(Also, my icon is uncredited, if anyone knows where it's from it would be greatly appreciated!)

Ok, been giving this a lot of thought. Though I know there are countless novels left for me to read, and that there are some fantastic stories waiting to be told, and I've only been exposed to Euro-centric literature... I've been thinking.

If someone came to you and said that they've never read western literature in their life, and wants to read one novel before they die (or set of novels/series), what would you recommend? Now this isn't a sort of oh read some Shakespeare, then some DOstoyevski, or can't really decide between this author or that...

I'm asking: If you, as you are, an intelligent educated person, could have only read the ONE novel in your life, which novel would you want that to be?

For me, in all honesty, I believe it would be Pullman's "Dark Materials" trilogy. It encompasses everything. Every thought, question, predicament, about people and society and religion and the very, very thin line between cruel, evil, well-meaning, and good (the last such a rare quality to be found in anything). And truth, lies, the complexity of living things, dead things, past things; there is so much more than we realise, it's awe-inspiring, dreadful, wonderful, but nothing spectacular or as you'd not expect it. Pullman, in my opinion is the most underrated author living today.

I was going to go into way more specifics about why I think this series is *IT* for me, the books that I would give all the others up for, but I just realised I have to go, so I'll leave it for later.

I would love to hear what you guys think! And what book/s you would say!

FINALLY I have a November that's not filled with exams. I'm so excited!!!

(Also, WOW, I am *hating* these ads everywhere).

I should so very much be at the gym right now. Blah.

I should go! Like, right now. Instead of just writing about it. Yes. Gym. Cross-trainer and weights and be sore and such. I should go.

Ok, I'm going.

...like, right now.

Yep.

So.

Today at work we got a new title (for our store, not the book, it's been out for a while it seems), for the children's novels section. I pick it up, and go to shelve it under "C", for "Clare". I notice the half naked nice boy-chest on the cover and so take a closer look and see "Cassandra".

Wow, I have been THAT out of it that I didn't know she had been PUBLISHED. It was so WEIRD, to say the least, holding her PUBLISHED book in my hands. This isn't one of those "wow look at CC" posts, you lot know I wasn't really much of a BNF-fangirl, but damn, one of us, it felt like... PUBLISHED. Fair enough, I only read her (I think it was one) H/D fic, and never really read her 'Draco Trilogy' as I greatly dislike D/Hr, but I still recognised her contribution to the fandom in terms of "breaking out" Draco, and it was so much fun reading the wank, haha.

I like that she used her fandom name, but then who wouldn't do that if you had that many HP fans that you know would loyally follow you to your PUBLISHED work.

Either ways, the point of this post was that it was so WEIRD seeing it and shelving it away. Almost - though still not as cool - as it would be to see the really good HP fics bound with nice covers for sale.

Has anyone read her books? Are they any good? Does the "hot" guy turn out to be LeatherPants!Draco? :P

I have been watching sooooooooo much Queer as Folk recently (US). I never really got the chance to watch every episode in order, so I downloaded season 1 - 5, muhahaha. I would have bought it, but it is ridiculously expensive. I don't know how they expect people to pay that much. Season 4 and 5 really not worth it. They should just sum it up with season 1 -3, then the last episode of season 5... everything in between is just filler, going back in a circle.

I love the show to death, though my only real beef with it is its blatant biphobia. That does make me feel a bit angry, but blah, I know it can't be perfect. Though it does shit me how much bisexual people have to put up with. Gay friends think you're just not picking a side and straight friends just think your a slut. Doesn't help that QaF's answer to it is, to quote Brian, "you can like pussy or you can like cock, but don't like them both at the same time." Well I do and I don't really give a shit if others think I should just "make up my mind". Grr.

Spoilers for Stephen King's 'Dark Tower' series, don't read on unless you never plan to read the series, which is probably a good idea =P )

Soooo, I think I may be just bored enough to make a Mighty Boosh mood theme. People have stopped randomly coming across the Jude Law mood theme I made ages ago, and I think that that waste of time and energy should be again repeated. Unless of course there's already a Mighty Boosh one that exists and is incredibly popular.

So looks like I caught up the fandom's latest wank fest - the Holocaust RPG HP thing? Or am I still far behind on that one? Touchy subject, but reading a lot of stuff made me angry... but after reconsidering, I think I might just leave it alone.

And maybe come back later with pictures of my cat instead.

Lalala!

Ha, I forgot to mention that I had a sex dream involving John Barrowman. You know, the guy from 'Torchwood'. A show, incidently, that I've never watched. Nor have I ever thought about Barrowman in that way having seen him only on 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks', but god DAMN the dream was good.
